Casa del Arbol becomes a journey to the past with contemporary touches that make guests feel at home. Its layout and the flow of the spaces, with the interior patio as the central axis, envelop guests in a magical charm with an aura of rest.
Casa del Arbol
Casa del Arbol stands in the heart of the Colonial City, an architectural gem that retains its original elements intact. This corner house, typical of the epoch, features adjoining rooms aligned with the street, which surround a quaint patio and create a refuge of tranquility in the middle of the dynamic pace of the city.
The roman roofs, the well and the brick archways, representative of the 16th century, have been carefully preserved. These historic elements set the foundation for the design of interior spaces, where the social areas and bedrooms are distributed around the patio, each with its individual style and contemporary comforts, and all in soft and warm colors.
One of the singular aspects of this dwelling is its being a corner house that retains its original characteristics. The grey marble tiles in the terrace, also used in the floor of the Catedral Primada de América, indicate the presence of one of its former inhabitants, Martín Febrillet.
The decoration at Casa del Arbol is a collage of Colonial and Victorian elements. In the library, venetian doors allow light to pass through, in contrast with the contemporary center table in the reception area. Carved mirrors and decorative details commissioned to local artists complement the ambiance. The furniture also reflects this combination: modern navy-blue sofas blend with antique armchairs and ceramics, integrating local art and culture.
The bathrooms are spacious and luminous with high ceilings and luxurious finishes. The colorful art adorning the walls blends harmoniously with the antique tubs, creating a welcoming and sophisticated space.
One of the characteristics of Casa del Arbol is its colonial patio and the mango tree that beckons tropical birds and their melodious chirping.
Since its opening in 2014 as part of the Casas del XVI hotel, Casa del Arbol has captured guests’ attention. Along with Casa de los Mapas, this is one of the first properties to welcome tourists, standing out for its impeccable preservation of historic and architectural elements. The hotel retains balance between past and contemporary with 21 luxury bedrooms, a library and lobby area.
The interior patio is adorned with planters and flower pots brimming with tropical vegetation, providing a sense of tranquility and enclosure. In addition, the thick masonry walls, true to the original structure, transmit a colonial sense to the guests.
Casa del Arbol offers all the high-quality hotel services, along with personalized attention to make each guest feel special. This place is a true testimony of history, architecture and culture, blending past and present in a unique experience.
